The foot doctors of The Center for Podiatric and Sports Medicine have treated close to 20,000 sports injuries ranging from traumatic injuries to those resulting from wear and tear.  We have treated professional Basketball, Soccer, and Tennis players, Olympic athletes, Track and Field World and National Champions, Collegiate athletes, Scholastic athletes and there isn’t a sport that doesn’t rely on healthy feet to assure success; regardless of the  the level.

The foot doctors goal is to treat the underlying cause as well as the acute problem and get the athlete back to doing what they would like to do. Whether it be participating in their sport or getting back to the gym without pain as quickly as possible. 

Dr. Geldwert, Racing in Need For Speed Relay Event

Dr. Geldwert and Dr. Lai are  both runners who have completed marathons. Dr. Geldwert is the Medical Director of the New York City Triathlon and Drs. Geldwert and Dr. Lai are the Medical Directors of the Hamptons Marathon.  Dr. Geldwert  was  also  the Medical Director for Regis & Kelly’s High Heel-a-thon.

Dr. Geldwert has also served as the Podiatrist for Professional Tennis Tournaments and professional soccer teams.  He served as part of the Medical Team for the Women’s Soccer World Cup and the U.S. Olympic Marathon trials and is a Fellow of The American Academy of Podiatric Sports Medicine.  He has also served as the Chairman of the Academy’s National meeting.  Dr. Lai has served as part of the Medical Team for the NYC Marathon and Triathlon.
