The Center For Podiatric Care and Sports Medicine is a podiatric surgical and sports medicine practice specializing in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disorders and diseases of the foot and ankle for children, adults and seniors.  The Center is under the medical direction of Dr. Josef J. Geldwert.  Dr. Geldwert is widely recognized as one of the leading New York Podiatrists.  Here at The Center, we offer comprehensive treatment of functional problems of the foot and ankle, fitting and modification of orthotic inserts and podiatric sports medicine services.  The Center provides quality care to those who suffer from chronic back and knee or foot problems stemming from abnormal biomechanics or sports injuries.

About Our Services and Facilities

Examination

On your first visit, you will be interviewed about your medical history and your present health. One of our doctors will then examine you to determine the nature of your ailment. Once the doctor has diagnosed your problem,they will explain your problem to you and will schedule you for the proper treatment and care.

X-Rays

X-Rays are an important tool for proper diagnosis and tracking of podiatric problems.  The Center has its own X-Ray facilities.  We take the utmost care not to expose you to any unnecessary radiation and will order X-Rays only when they are essential.  Our Westchester office has  state of the art digital radiology, which allows images to be viewed on a computer rather than having films. The New York office has a  musculoskeletal ultrasound imaging unit for evaluation of tendon & muscle problems.

Both the New York and Westchester offices have a Walking & Running Gait Analysis Lab with video motion analysis and both the New York and Westchester offices have the ability to provide computerized orthotic scanning.   

Cryosurgery

The New York office has a cryosurgical unit for the treatment of neuromas and chronic plantar fasciitis.

Please be prepared to provide this information to our office along with your current medical insurance information. If you have any questions when filling out these forms, please do the best you can and our staff will assist you with your questions on the day of your visit.

Insurance Coverage

In an effort to minimize out-of-pocket expenses, our group has doctors that accept and participate in most managed care and insurance plans. Should you have a question regarding your insurance coverage, please call our office for assistance.
